Labels Don't Sell Products
When your first starting your line, your label design isn't actually that important. In fact some of our most successful clients have some of the worst label designs. They are still successful though because no matter how good your product looks, it still won't well itself. In reality the product is sold by you, or your service providers. If you are integrating your products into your treatments, (which is the best way to sell more) then your client probably won't even see the label until after you have sold them on the product, so the label itself really doesn't matter for your sales.
The Secrets To Great Looking Labels
Great Looking Products Are Easy If You Follow The 3 C's
-
Clear
Keep the text large enough so that your customers can clearly read it. Remember it may look
big on your computer screen, but the labels themselves are generally not very big, so the text may print too small to read.
Very thin fonts are also hard to read, especially if printed on a low contrast background.
-
Clean
Don't clutter your labels up with all sorts of text and icons. If a label is looks cluttered
customers are just going to be overwhelmed and are not going to read it. A clean design will make it far easier for them to find the info
they need and will make your labels far more impactful.
-
Consistent
Want your labels to look professional? Then this is the most important point.
Use consistent fonts, colors, and layouts across all your labels. This will make your products look like a professional, cohesive, and
well-thought-out line.

Labels Are Not For Marketing
Customers don't like reading a bunch of text, especially if it's small and cluttered. So don't rely on your labels to get your marketing message across. You should educating your clients about your products while performing their treatments, or on your social media and website. This will be far more effective at getting your message across and your labels will look a lot cleaner as well.
How To Change Your Labels
You can change your labels whenever you like. Don't feel like you are locked into the design you used on your first order. It's totally normal to make a few small adjustments along the way. As your line grows and you expand into retail and other studios or spas you may want to change your labels to match the needs of a different enviroment.
